Bush 2012

Bush was a great race and after all the doom and gloom about the weather and the fact that some of the bigger names gave it a miss our days racing turned out top class,we had a good spot for watching plenty of tea and our local rider Richie provided plenty of drama for us ,this bike belongs to Darren Gilpin and I had a good chat with him about what it takes to build a 450 race bike .This one is based on a CRF 450 Honda with a standard frame and swinging arm,GSXR front end and a nice billet top yoke to hold it all together, the motor has a lightened crank and piston and revs to 10,000 rpm that,s 2,000 up on standard and a battery operated rev counter to keep a eye on the rev,s.He has also fitted a larger rad and oil cooler to keep the temperature down as the standard engine carry,s very little oil. While tuning it he tried three different exhausts and air filters to achieve optimum power luckily his brother has a dyno, the bodywork is rs250 Honda fairing and seat with a aprilia rs125 petrol tank cover it took him 3 months to build and the finish is second to none and it sounds great with lots of detailed parts fitted and made to suit,I am sorry I did not take more pics maybe next time I will ,,,
